Albany Terrace was built in 1873 by Sir Edward Hain, owner of the White Star Shipping Line, to provide homes for his ships captains.
This is a beautiful terrace of cut granite townhouses, built on a large scale to accomodate a Victorian family and their respective servants.
The House has lovely sea views from all rooms at the front, over St.Ives Bay to Godrevy Lighthouse and beyond.
The property has been very sympathetically renovated around all the original period details.
Holiday Let
The entire property is available for holiday rentals approximately 24 – 26 weeks of the year from March to September.
In short, the accomodation provides 5 double bedrooms, 5 showers, 1 bath and 6 wc’s.
White Egyptian cotton bed linen and towels are provided.
Bed & Breakfast
From October to March we offer B & B in three bedrooms – 1, 2 and 3. Each room also has tea and coffee making facilities.
We offer a delicious breakfast of fresh fruit and organic yogurt, a selection of cereals including homemade granola, real orange juice, full English breakfast made with good local bacon and sausages, local free range eggs, fried bread, mushrooms, tomatoes etc – there is always a vegetarian option of scrambled, poached or boiled eggs etc. Toast with various jams and homemade marmalade, tea and good cafetiere coffee.
Location
3 Albany Terrace is positioned above Porthminster beach in a quiet elevated part of the town. All four beaches, the harbour and all shops and restaraunts are within a short walk.
The Local Area:- The nearest restaurant is the famous Porthminster Beach Cafe. The town has scores of good restaurants, bars, cafes and pubs. Amongst our favourites are The Porthminster Beach Cafe, St.Ives Tearoom, The Firehouse and Blas Burgerworks.
Attractions in the town include The Tate Gallery,Barbara Hepworth Museum and The Bernard Leach Pottery.
